The company operates a comprehensive on-site interpreting service currently processing over 200,000 on-site interpreting bookings across the UK each year.
we provide face-to-face interpreting delivery has also recently been enhanced by the introduction of its innovative video interpreting solution, the only on-demand video interpreting solution covering foreign languages and non-spoken languages currently available within the UK.

Our company operates the world’s largest and most advanced telephone interpreting service. As a global on-demand service, supporting over 100,000 calls every day.
We engages over 12,000 professional interpreters, across a range of over 200 languages and multiple time-zones.

the company currently delivers over 70,000 translation and transcription projects per year covering circa. 200 languages and a range of alternative formats. We works with a network of approximately 5,000 translators who are selected based on their language qualifications, technical expertise, and their experience of working in specialised industry sectors.

Responsibilities

We provides internships to students and graduates from both the UK and overseas, all with an interest in acquiring in-depth understanding of the translation and language industry. Candidates receive dedicated training from experienced professionals and integration into the company for a minimum period of 3 months.

Typically, candidates will be expected to work full-time (5 days a week).

What are the objectives of the internship programme?

➢ To introduce interns to the translation industry

➢ To help interns understand the structure of a language services provider environment ➢ To observe and participate in translation projects and activities appropriate to their competence

➢ To apply knowledge and skills acquired at university in a working environment. What do interns gain from this experience?

➢ Regular formal and informal training sessions about CAT tools and Project Management

➢ Better job prospects and the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired at university in a business environment

➢ Experience in business practices, liaising with suppliers, dealing with issues, negotiating deadlines, managing a budget, working with CAT tools such as Trados and XTM

➢ A potential job offer at the end of the internship. Experience The range of work experience that you will receive will depend on your requirements and interests.


This will include, to varying extents, the following:

➢ Quality Assurance – quality checking translations and finalising documents before delivery to the client

➢ Project Management – understanding the project management process, liaising with translators, proofreaders and clients

➢ Supplier recruitment – sourcing new linguists based on specific projects requirements ➢ IT skills – MS Office, CAT tools such as XTM and Trados 2017, project management software as applicable

➢ Working relationships – building trust and working relationships between colleagues ➢ Terminology management – creating glossaries and termbases using online tools and softwares such as Multiterm

➢ Translation Memories – performing TM alignments and updating TMs to ensure quality translations

➢ Admin tasks - issuing invoices and purchase orders

➢ Proofreading – the student can be expected to proofread translations into their native language for basic grammar, spelling and formatting


The internship is unpaid, however we provide a daily allowance of up to £10 for transports and up to £6.50 for lunch (for each day worked in the office) – Receipts must be provided.

Benefits
